Sharkey, a Misskey fork, is pushing forward with post imports. Unlike other platforms that have tried this, Sharkey will not federate the imported notes at all, just import them to the account. Assuming all comments, likes, boosts, etc are lost, but I’ll take it.

In addition, it seems to have Instagram and Twitter imports. I’m intrigued! Excited to see some progress on this front.

I've just discovered WikiData, which allows queries on Wikipedia and an entirely new universe has opened up. More for my coding bucket list. Seems perfect for some #11ty integrations.

I've been listening in on the #FediForum today when I can and it was mentioned that the BBC is floating the idea of using more ActivityPub platforms beyond Mastodon.

@pixelfed was mentioned as a possible way to internally manage and share media that comes in from their teams. Awesome!

I examined the specifics of Firefish Group Chats and explored the differences between it and other fedi platforms with similar functionality.

A #FediTip I’m just now starting to understand..and it’s so cool! Last week, I created a #PixelFed account (OpenSource Instagram replacement). I can go into any #Mastodon app and follow any Pixelfed account, and see it’s posting activity in my feed!

It works in the reverse as well. I can follow any Masto account on Pixelfed. It’s like being able to follow Facebook, Instagram and Twitter favorites all in one place. Sweet!
