In a classic "why we can't have nice things", one brave man is attacking us from WITHIN to try to prove some sort of point, and try to make us fail.

LPT: chocolate chip cookie in the microwave for like 10 seconds returns it to "straight out of the oven freshly baked" state.

Don't eat cookies unless you've accomplished something though.

I'm really tempted to build a New NewGrounds. It's a fringe priority at the moment, just something that's been working in the back of my head for a while. I think the world needs a new outlet to create and inspire others.

It's very important to be brave and have at least one hill to die on, or we risk losing even more freedom.

Just took a vitamin... finally getting some B12 back in my brain.

Was reconsidering whether I should add ActivityPub support directly to Ditto, vs having a separate self-hosted bridge service that can integrate. But now I'm thinking what if we do it and just go straight to FEP-ef61: https://codeberg.org/fediverse/fep/src/branch/main/fep/ef61/fep-ef61.md

@silverpill have you actually implemented this in Mitra already?

What do you guys think the world really needs from open-source, online communities right now? I'm building yet another microblogging thing. It's awesome and I think you guys are going to really like it. But I feel like there's some idea floating in the ether that we haven't grasped yet. Something new.

@alex quality suckless software. back to safety, quality and real user experience, not what they call it nowadays.
stopping the mad printer of standards and factory of everyday new features that nobody wants and that implements new bus and turns everything in bloatware. software must just work for tens of years without everyday fixes and patches.
software is not a mean for self assertion of developers. software is a working tool for users, first of all.

@alex and yes, no money from corporations. for this is not for goodness, never. open source should avoid any coprorate impact. and GPLv3 everywhere to stop code stealing by coprorations.

Any talented frontend developers here?

The Ditto server admin can publish kind 5 deletions for any event, even ones they don't own, and the Ditto relay will respect those deletions even though the pubkeys don't match. Other clients would ignore these events. https://gitlab.com/soapbox-pub/ditto/-/merge_requests/99

It's best to organize your code into 3 branches.

What is the absolute meltdown happening today. Who in Russia is doing this?

Which account should I delete posts from the test the deletions API?

How are gen Z creating awesome stuff now that Flash is deprecated? We were very technologically advanced at the age of 12. I'd love to see what kids these days are able to create, and I hope Roblox is not the only option.
