Yes, I've heard that the FBI is now recommending that we use End-to-End encryption. Yes, I am worried about dying of an irony overdose. A big part of me wanted to just stay in bed this morning. I forced myself to get up, get dressed, and go out and run errands and be around other people for a bit. It wasn't a magical fix, but it did help. It reminded me that as horribly flawed as things are, there's also a community out there.

@mattblaze like I keep saying to myself, I have done all I could do, and am still doing the things I've done to at least make life for those who have to be around me NOT suck. When all's said and done, I can't put basic living on hold due to the poor copy of the Three Stooges at the federal level. @mattblaze not me. I do not live a life of illusion. I face the shit each day head on. Keep fighting, fear nothing. I have kids that need a strong leader. @Matt Blaze
Thanks for sharing your bit of struggle. I can relate very much to "as horribly flawed as things are, there's also a community out there." Today is the 30th anniversary of the disclosure, by some troublemaking malcontent, of a flaw in the NSA's "Clipper Chip" key escrow scheme.

@mattblaze "the man who sank the Clipper ship" 😃 - I remember reading about that kerfuffle over in the UK back then. Thanks so much for sharing both that and the paper! *swoosh hand* Oh, that rascal… I wonder if he ever stopped that “hacking” nonsense and made anything of himself. 😜😇 Today, 3/14, is Pi Day in the US, where the date corresponds to the first three significant digits of the eponymous mathematical constant. Europeans find this baffling, since there, under the metric system, Pi is exactly 10. Several people claiming that Pi isn’t actually 10 in Europe. If not, sounds like the metric system isn’t as useful as it’s made out to be. Really impressed by the number of people on social media who turn out to have expertise in both deep sea engineering AND modern Russian political dynamics.

@mattblaze Nice thing about Mastodon: It's one of the extremely rare web pages I visit where my ad blocker doesn't need to do anything.

@mattblaze how do you find recommendations for people to follow? Do you have to search individually? |

@mattblaze This makes me glad I was born in the 1980s with irony absorbing crumple zones.
