Today, #Pixelfed’s Kickstarter reached 1,000 backers. To be exact, 1,122 backers.
And it still has 43 days to go! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pixelfed/pixelfed-foundation-2024-real-ethical-social-networks I will laugh if #Meta announced #ActivityPub integration with #Instagram because #Pixelfed is growing in popularity.
And that scenario is actually plausible. They’d do it while Pixelfed is tiny in order to head off the threat. I’ve created @surf feeds for every single prominent #Fediverse software distribution.
Head’s up! #Pixelfed is highly likely to reach 500,000 accounts this week.
And remember, it just reached 400,000 accounts last week. The service is growing fast and steady! Looks like pixelfed.social, the largest Pixelfed server, just now reached 200K accounts!  Android Authority also has their review of Pixelfed. Amusingly, they say this about it:

After Mastodon and Threads, it is now the third major ActivityPub-enabled platform to hit 1 million users! 9.3% of Fediverse users are on a Misskey server! |
