@thomasfuchs It could turn out to be a good thing in the end. Change can be good. I'm still trying to figure Mastodon out.  @thomasfuchs I feel like Mastodon itself qualifies as #RetroComputing somehow.   Just so you know, in this "pandemic is over" times my wife just got admitted to the hospital (pain management after broken leg surgery) and it took hours to get a room. Because rooms are all full. Because Covid. @thomasfuchs the pandemic has started flaring up again precisely because people think it’s over :facepalm:  Show this chart to crypto fanatics and say it's a crypto chart: "Obviously it will go to the Moon any time now" Show this chart to crypto fanatics and say it's COVID rates: "This means COVID is totally over, it's clearly just hype, something something big pharma"  @thomasfuchs that logic that "it will rise any day now" is even more applicable to diseases than money. Because diseases have a latency period where infections are asymptomatic and not detectable, and infected people are going around spreading it everywhere while assuming they're okay. I caught some more photons before they crashed into my driveway for a total exposure time of 23⅔ hours.
