Will miss the #retrocomputing community on Twitter but many if not most people I followed there have made it over to Mastodon

@thomasfuchs Has LGR moved over to this side yet? He hasn't posted on Twitter in days.

@thomasfuchs You are aware of the fact that you can follow hashtags here? I just today started following #retrocomputing and #vintagecomputing @thomasfuchs I will never forget the feel of flipping that switch and the sound of the 20mb hard drive spinning up. And having the hd was something special at the time. @thomasfuchs @thomasfuchs follow the hashtag #Commodore128 it’s the greatest and best hashtag of the last month! @thomasfuchs my sense so far is that mastodon will have a much higher ratio of retrocomputing nerds than twitter. the self-hosted server aspect seems to attract the same kinds of folks that ran BBSes in the old days. @thomasfuchs hard to say so early on if that'll pan out. I could be happy with a new Fidonet :) @thomasfuchs It could turn out to be a good thing in the end. Change can be good. I'm still trying to figure Mastodon out. @thomasfuchs I feel like Mastodon itself qualifies as #RetroComputing somehow. |
