 If you're an organisation that wants to participate on the fediverse, you really need to be running your own Mastodon instance. Most of the Mastodon infrastructure right now is being run by individuals or small groups, for the community. Trying to put your "official account" on community infrastructure is extremely rude. Welcome to the Fediverse. It's nice here! Remember to report horrible things, your admins and mods can and will deal with it. Don't try to "grow your brand" here, the Fedi doesn't really work like that. Virality doesn't really happen. It's nice! Connect with people. Make new friendships. Just be, in a place that respects you as a human. I'm reimplementing Cloud Island's infracode in a more sustainable configuration management system and as I go through all the pieces that I'd put together I'm a bit, you know I'd forgotten just *how much* work I put into this the first time around, how complex the whole thing is and it really goes to show that it's just trucked along for the last almost 2 years Hey friends Last year sometime, someone posted a really good “intro to the fedi” post that they used for new signups on their instance did you see this? and, unlike me, bookmark it?  @aurynn I am trying to remember the name of another provider and can't, but they offered friend camp as an alternative. If I ever decide to self host I think that would be nice 12
