@grishka I demand spiral scrolling only! All this vertical and horizontal crap makes me sad.

I finally translated my #ActivityPub tutorial to English: https://grishka.me/blog/activitypub-from-scratch/ (several people at this year's FOSDEM asked me about this) @grishka it is an excellent article. One small pint,I found that 30s was not enough for validating signatures. Some servers are *slow*! And it is equally possible I don't give a crap about the identity-verifying aspect of SSH for hosts on my local network. "Host key for 192.168.0.17 has changed and you have requested strict checking." No, *I* never requested that. We just put out a big update for the Mastodon Android app! A lot of this was based on feedback from Play Store reviews. Give it a shot, it's a really strong update. @samhenrigold Sounds nice, might test, but I'm missing an important feature here: reverse timeline. That is, timeline in real chronological order. As far as I can see the only Android app offering this at the moment is @pachli Of course it happened while I was away from my laptop so I had to ssh into the server from my phone to take a thread dump for later analysis and restart the daemon Oh finally. Never realized that Apple sells a keyboard for $200 🙈 A question for my US followers. I've seen reports online of people receiving used/open-box items from Amazon when they order new and pay the full price. How much of a problem is this in reality? How often does this happen, has this ever happened to you? I'm thinking of getting myself a Pixel 9 Pro, but since I'm going to use a mail forwarder, returning it if they do end up sending me the wrong thing is going to be a major nuisance. And no I can't really order directly from Google Store because they now have a list of mail forwarder addresses and would cancel your order if your address is on that list. I found that out in 2020. @grishka nono, you don't understand, the embargo will definitely only target Putin himself

@tveskov The world has basically become this: Everywhere: On Every Platform: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu_Pzuwy-JY&ab_channel=x96lyq2zs2 Profile picture update posts are tricky tho. It would make sense from the UX standpoint to sync comments between the post and its corresponding photo, so each comment will actually be two comment objects linked together... Yikes. So I made a macOS thing. It's a fidget spinner, but with a twist. Made possible thanks to @samhenrigold posting about his own experiments with these private APIs.

@grishka @samhenrigold This is so cool! I didn't even realize this was possible until now lol |
What the fuck. Why are all these huge libraries so addicted to all the shady crap like dynamic class loading. Just, like, use the classpath, maybe? It exists for a reason.
