Wifi only printer from HP would be a tough sell to me.
Mine refuse to respond to WiFi for 6 months at a time (factory reset to no avail). Thanks God it had USB and I could continue to print thanks to my Debian server

Mastodon is free software but someone will have to pay the bill for the servers. When the server admins come asking for help, don't be offended and be ready to chip in

Agreed. I wonder if there is a way to serve up ads that are truly based on one’s interests or server choice. If opted in, the only ads you see are from interests or even companies you choose. If not opted in, you get other broad categories of ads. Advertisers would love that.

@jfparis Not an expert on funding models, but I do know that AO3 (a far more niche service!) is very successful during their fundraising drives, and I imagine Mastodon could be too.
