Henslow's Sparrows are among the most secretive of North American sparrows, often choosing to walk through their preferred dense grassy habitat rather than fly. Some folks (including me) have opined that they might be part mouse.

But here is proof that they can indeed fly. From Konza Prairie Biological Station, Riley County KS this morning

Black-necked Stilt folding up those long pink legs and sitting on a nest. Quivira NWR a few days ago.

@Albatrossity That's interesting. I'm guessing these clever birds have figured out how to install a waterproof liner for their nests.
