I'd personally wait till it officially becomes open source before trying it, but at least it claims it will be soon. Could be worse, could be some company making a shamelessly ad and tracking ridden app to cash in on the collapse of Twitter.

@Sarahp WriteFreely is simpler, I always found wordpress difficult to use. The closer the blogging platform is to a word processor the better.
