not everything is terrible--take this 19th century mechanical kaléidoscope magic lantern slide for instance that just arrived for the @mediaarchaeologylab. what a beauty!

@loriemerson @rose_alibi Amazing! Looking forward to PDF version or any format, really.

I tried to build a radio transmitter in college (with limited funds) and failed. I'm hoping I'll do better this time around.

@loriemerson I’m discovering the “Other Networks” project thanks to this post. What you do there seems really interesting.

Reminds me of what my friends at @laresille are doing. It’s a collaborative, feminist alternative fiction project exploring what “Internet” could look like if women didn’t get pushed out of IT.

look at this smiling baby exhausted from a morning of relentlessly chasing and tackling older kitty friend! there - that's my positive content for the day. #caturday

I have (and probably will continue to for years to come) posted a lot here about #othernetworks - a cluster of projects that document networks before and/or outside of the internet and artist experiments on these networks. the main project I recently finished is a catalog of about 85 of these other networks that will be published by Anthology Editions as a beautifully designed art book in spring 2025. I also like to post about anything related to media archaeology, alternative histories of technology, alternative networks, and alternative network protocols. #introductions
