WebAssembly is cool and all, but it's depressing that the future of the web is binary. So many people who grew up in the Web 1.0 era of HTML and JavaScript got their start exploring code with the "View source..." menu option. I know Web 2.0 virtually killed the source-nature of the Web already, but Wasm is the final nail in the coffin.

@hisham_hm Web components reverses this trend, and before you say it can't be done, load up Photoshop web @hisham_hm nowadays many websites are minified so the "view source" option is not really helpful even without using wasm. @hisham_hm reminds me of "HTML, CSS and our vanishing industry entry points" Another day, another PM at Google gets promoted by shuffling their product line around and causing confusion to users @hisham_hm "Promoted by shuffling" or "Promoted and start shuffling"? 'Cause that would make a lot of sense: Manager gets promoted, tries to erase everything previous manager did. wow, I knew that BER was finally opening, but I didn't realize that both TXL and SXF closed down! Argh, fleets have a "seen by these people" feature. You don't even have to like, RT or interact in any way. The perfect social-media-anxiety-inducing, privacy-shattering type of feature! Innovation at work! This night I had a dream I typed rm -rf /tmp / as root. I get so nervous I struggled to find Ctrl-C and kept mistyping, then tried the power button but you have to hold it for two seconds, then thought of pulling the cord but the laptop had a battery charge. Then I woke up. @hisham_hm I believe you'd have to also have typed --no-preserve-root for it to truly be a disaster on the benefits of being a programmer using an open source OS: some idiot neighbor decided to name their wifi praising our idiot president took me 2 lines of code to change my wifi widget so it never shows up on my networks list (it does help that I wrote my own wifi widget) ok, app, this name and icon are so cute you almost made me install it for that alone and I don't even need Spanish conjugation software |
