@nasa I had no idea the moon was that small! I've looked up at the night sky before and it always seemed so big and majestic, but here it is, peeping through a hole in some archway like a tiny little pebble. It's almost disappointing, really. And to think, all this time I've been in awe of something that's probably just a couple dozen meters across. I guess I'll have to find a new celestial object to admire.

A spiral of stars ๐ŸŒ€

A few months after the final Hubble servicing mission, the telescope took this #HubbleClassic image of the spiral galaxy M100.

Itโ€™s classified as a grand-design spiral galaxy because of its two prominent lanes of young, blue stars: go.nasa.gov/3YBSYUg

Venus's surface is shrouded in mystery thanks to its ultra-thick atmosphere, but when the Pioneer Venus Orbiter reached orbit 44 years ago on Dec. 4, 1978, it sent back detailed data about the planetโ€ฆfor another 14 years!
