My favourite and most funny joke is to intentionally mishear someone saying a range “𝑛 to 𝑚” and reply as if they said the single value 10𝑛+𝑚.

𝑛 must be 4, 6, 7 or 8, and 𝑛 < 𝑚 ≤ 9. Try it, it is hil-ario-us!

Example:

Person A: “Apparently we should brew this tea for four to six minutes.”
Me: “We don't have 46 minutes!!”
Person A and Me: *stumbles in uncontrollable laughter*

Person A: *leaves*
Me: *extended uncontrollable laughter*

ça marche aussi en francais (mais un petit peu moins bien quand même ^^). "pendant 4 à 20 minutes" pourrait marcher super bien, mais les occasions de le placer vont être rares...

(j'ai vu les jours derniers que Dr Alderwick comprenait le français... 😁)

@neauoire The #Uxn builds are missing from rabbits.srht.site, and I don't understand why: it's not as if anything changed with the build scripts recently.

builds.sr.ht/~rabbits/job/1001 shows that we should expect, e.g. rabbits.srht.site/uxn/asma.rom to exist, but it gives a 404 right now.

Compare with builds.sr.ht/~rabbits/job/9994 for Bicycle, that log suggests that rabbits.srht.site/bicycle/bicy should be there, and that works fine.

The build log shows that srht accepted the upload, so perhaps it's a temporary fault?

@alderwick I'm drowning in reports that the builds are down, I didn't expect that so many people relied on those. Do you have an idea how I could have builds up somewhere that's more reliable than sr.ht?

My first goals for #FinishIt are:

• I've automated compute jobs (such as Uxn builds) on computers in my bungalow, which power up only when we have enough spare solar power to support them. It's all working but I haven't written it up! There's plenty of fun hacks I've needed to do, so let's write it up! :flan_blush:

• Get my cyberdesk operational. Like a cyberdeck, it's a smörgåsbord of hacked-together electronics, but it's a little too big to carry around considering it's a piece of furniture.

Today we'll hit 310 K in the village. Our solar-powered aircon is ready to go, we have a damp towel in our fridge for emergencies, and we've checked round our neighbours to see who wants an invite if their place gets too hot.

Some people don't have very useful plans (i.e. windows and curtains open “to let the fresh air in”). Sorry, but the air will not be fresh. Keep curtains and windows closed and use a fan, dunk your feet in water and so on. Just please have a plan.

@alderwick thanks for the tips! it's interesting for me to realize that I'm in "western Europe" now.
we've been reaching around 313K these past few days, fortunately as our apartment is in a basement it hasn't been as bad for us as it has for others.
