Yes they’re targeting uBlock, no they’re not targeting Firefox per se. Edge users also report this issue.

How about just boycotting YouTube?

@tilvids @mozilla And if we could just get mozilla to actually turn off telemetry when a user changes the setting, that'd be nice. I love #firefox and I'll never not use it. But the fact that I have to go into about:config to *actually* turn off the telemetry, that's kind of shady. Not nearly as shady as #google is, no, but it's not complete transparency.

Doesn't the video start off on the wrong foot by saying "Mastodon is a Technology" when anyone with a browser can quickly find Mastodon gGmbH?

It goes on to explain, showing the common #fediverse logo-diagram and then explains #ActivityPub, while calling it Mastodon. I confess I stopped watching at that point.

"Mastodon" is not "like email", it is like Hotmail, or Outlook, or Gmail, a wrapper app for the #W3C #ActivityPub standard protocol, and ActivityPub IS very much like email 😏

@tilvids Just a reminder that this only applies to US law: elsewhere the works of eg Virginia Woolf and Conan Doyle have been public domain for some time. In the UK and EU for example copyright in literary works expires 70 years after the author's death, regardless of the date of publication.
