Amazon has bought: They tried to coerce Ecobee into handing over private data and when they refused, Amazon retaliated by creating a competing smart thermostat. I believe they also chatted with Mycroft home assistant in the early days, and instead of investing, launched their competing Echo/Alexa smart assistant devices. Amazon systematically directs customers to their own products over the competition when searching Amazon Marketplace. In case you’re wondering where I’ve been the last week, this nine-month-long project was finally released, two weeks ahead of schedule! Gonna be focused on ironing out the bug reports for the next little bit.  Really attracted to this and tempted to get it/ask for it for Christmas or my birthday, but… the reviews are not great.
