For the sake of all of us, show your devices some love. Get really-really into them. Reuse them. Repair them if they're broken. Creatively repurpose them (this activity is also known as 'hacking'). If you can't, give them to someone who can do that for you, we're always looking for a job (and things to do).

Perhaps you know a "digital native tech shaman" (heh) in your family. Don't forget to pay them!

Upgrade only as needed, preferably gradually, and don't throw out the old stuff: you don't know when you need a spare or your little cousin needs one, certainly for school, pinky promise.

Don't upgrade often, don't jump on new and shiny. Moore's law does not dictate you to buy into every iteration. In fact, skip a couple of generations. It's better to be truly amazed by your next big upgrade, than jumping one and getting only 'meh.' performance growth. Learn the benefits of delayed gratification, and stick to what you already have.

They've grown up with technology in a similar way as my generation grew up with cars. We all use them but few can repair them.

There was a myth around the 90's where there was a belief that people growing up with tech would know it in the similar way as the geeks of the 80's did. They did forget that to use a computer in the 80's required you to know programming, to use a computer in the 90's required you to only understand files.

As the new century rolled over, things became even more streamlined, which was necessary to get more people to use it.

I have for a long time been of the opinion that the number of people who actually understand tech is constant. There is a certain proportion of the population who are willing to actually understand this stuff, and that doesn't change over time.

Even given the tools like @peertube, hosting video is obscenely expensive because of how large it is, and how storage technology isn't really evolving much.

I can't wait for AV1 to get a foothold, and be finally implemented in Peertube. It will at least alleviate some pain.

Балванок без принтов нет случаем? Не рофл, реально можно смотреть через них, но выглядит странновато правда, если слишком ярко, можно ещё сверху диск наложить. Лучше всего смотрится через многоразовые DVD-RW
