Не осталось почти нормальных компьютерных магазинов.

Все торгуют блядскими ГАДЖЕТАМИ и АКСЕСУАРАМИ. Читай, телефонами и чехлами.

В итоге в погоне за одним сраным проводком можно пол-Москвы обойти.

The difference between good and bad kind of redundancy is if it's intentional or not.

Having three servers that do the same thing behind a reverse proxy is good redundancy. It reinforces your architecture, makes it more resilient.

Having three different ways to connect to database in the same project is bad redundancy. It just creates mess.

@drq I can think of a problem that could save you from: someone amending something in one of these methods and breaking it. If in a painful twist of dysfunctional testing the broken code reaches production, only a part of the app is broken, not the whole thing.

(Depending on how intertwined their uses are though, the parts that remain working would be better off being firmly broken rather than doing their job halfway…)

I'd go for a different angle: good redundancy saves you from problems that could feasibly happen and only when the alternatives are even less viable.
The outcome doesn't really change though, this particular redundancy can be made useless through some basic testing before each rollout. Though, hey, testing can be hard too!

We need a tiny, preferably open-source graphics hardware solution.

Nothing fancy, just show a framebuffer.

Why?

Because I don't want to buy a full-blown graphics card just so I can have a video out for my server to plug a KVM into.

@drq I've been checking into the external USB solutions but unfortunately they all seem to require already existing hardware to function.

It seems like the simple option these days is to get an APU with everything integrated which sucks. I use an ancient GeForce 2 that I ram into the systems when I desperately need to see what's going on.
