Today is, according to _sources_, the International Day of:
- cats
- female orgasms
- vore
I wanna say “connect the dots”, but there’s so many ways to connect them…
I bought a new clock radio alarm a few months back, and it has one of those fancy "sleep sounds" settings. To help you get to sleep you can listen to 15 mins of waves lapping the beach, or birdsong, or rain fall in the trees.
But where are the settings that *I* want?
- ZX Spectrum loading Jet Set Willy
- 56k modem dial up and handshaking sounds
- Epson FX80 dot matrix printer printing off a school project
- Punched tape punching out a long Z80 assembly program
@labria went to OSM last year to update something.
Tried to register, it told me account name is in use. Huh? Asked for password recovery, found out I've registered to an old email 16 years ago...
Now at the archive: FORMAT CHANGES - airchecks of radio stations signing off forever, switching formats, or starting their new lives as a new call-sign.
@textfiles
This hits hard. I was on the air at KDEO, once a station in Honolulu, that changed format twice and then shuttered. Times and tastes change, that's for sure.
Now I really need to repair my cassette tapedeck and find my tapes. Some of the most creative FM radio occurs. Most recently was the Canadian station that played Rage Against The Machine, over and over and over and over. Even over their stream. It was glorious.
@MicroSFF … except by accident ☺
very nice!
@MicroSFF my cat definitely wishes he had opposable thumbs on occasion
