HW [...] chose GPLv3 for that purpose. The fact that we're still going today [...] is proof he made a good choice. If KOReader had been proprietary, it may have been unnecessarily abandoned -- a fate that is all too common for similar projects. Read more: u.fsf.org/3zi

@fsf or even better: fuck tax software. Fuck tax forms. Fuck this entire TurboTax-and-HRBlock-funded system of needless complexity where regular people are responsible for the math.

Simplify the tax code. The government should do the math and can send us all bills with a “look this over if you feel like it” statement, like other countries do.

We’re allowed to admit other countries do something better & copy them. And TurboTax is allowed to be irrelevant.

@fsf why post this 4 times in a timespan of a day? I would like to keep up with important news and get informed about free software, but this lets me think fsf might not be the correct place.

@fsf "for any purpose." even if the purpose is to harm free software and others freedom?
Tolerance can't included tolerance against intolerance. It's a very interesting but hard topic to grasp, at least for me. It's a journey to think about those topics. I'm sure others, especially from fsf, already had many discussions in this direction.

@fsf Well that's what happens when almost 3/4 of web browser usage is dominated by the chromium engine. and with cef/blink/v8-based frameworks like node.js and electron gaining in popularity, it's only going to get worse
