I am really excited what this demonstrates for #ReproducibleBuilds in #Guix both for a third reference point...

But also that you can enable the build farm without trusting it, relying on the signatures from the more established servers, and download the bit-for-bit identical binaries from the "untrusted" one.

Which is not to say there is any reason in particular not to trust the new build farm... just that you do not have to trust it for it to be useful!

Такие машины всегда были более редкими, более сложными в запуске, но и, конечно, более интересными. И так уж вышло, что начал я с PowerPC, а точнее — с компьютеров Apple на базе PowerPC G4. Итак, в данной статье поговорим о том, что обычно никогда не упоминают в статьях про такое железо: как его запустить тому, кто до этого никогда не имел с ним дела. At 67 my brain is clogged with memories compared to 27, and I find my interest in absolutely everything distracting. I don’t focus any more, I’m no longer working to a deadline. It’s glorious fun but progress suffers. But I finally got a version of Guix+StdLinux (aka Nonguix, because the Linux kernel is full of non-free stuff that my Thinkpad’s Wifi needs) installed to my liking. I want to muck about with Andrew Tropin’s (@abcdw) exciting RDE project which builds on top of the Guix toolset. Quite emacs-heavy (okay with me, I’m very old school and it’s like an old shoe) and a very beautiful, tidy design.

I'm in the review of issues.guix.gnu.org/54560 which may help extended monitoring ability.

For balancing traffic there is HAProxy in the (gnu packages high-availability) module which misses written service. That module contains base packages for clustering as well, all missing services.

Great news, everyone!

I've published a first version of the static site builder StatiCL.

As you might assume from it's name, it is written in Common Lisp.

Now I'm replacing all my sites which used Coleslaw with this new builder, because it is more flexible and suitable not only for blogs.

I need first testers, so feel free to share your feelings and issues. Also I'd appreciate if you'll boost this post.

The email from Thanos Apollo saying: Hey Andrew! Thanks for making guix home! I recently came back to guix and it solved many of the issues I've previously had, especially when it comes to shell configuration. That's a nice scheme you made there:) I've also been looking on your haunt videos, they are really nicely thought out. I'm not really the type to watch 1 hour videos but I appreciate all the structure you put on those, even though they are live. Wish you all the best!

I do web backends, scripting and system programming on basic level (I think I can handle it, I just lack real-world experience). I have about 4-5 years of commercial proprietary experience and also 10+ years personal programming experience.

My main interests are GNU toolchain, GNU/Linux systems, GNU Guix, NixOS, GNU Emacs, GNU Guile, C (gcc), Common Lisp, PHP, Python and some other programming languages. I can use Symfony, Django on backend, but I don't like to stick to frameworks much.
