Our roses are done, there were a few on Thursday, but with the rain, they are now just sodden blobs, mostly brown.

Summer is feeling pretty good on this sunny Wednesday morning.
Happy to sit with her pal to supervise the breakfast prep.
It feels like things are starting to get back to normal after a tough week for everyone.
It's almost time to meet our newest oncologist via a video appointment.

The eldest of my daughter's family cats. Nobody knows how old she is for sure. My son in law saved her from a storm drain more than 15 years ago, and she was an adult then. We thought she was a kitten because she was so small, but she never got bigger.
Her name is Jones.
She is a little bit cranky, but they love her to pieces. She is pretty comfortably retired.

These are from my daughter's garden this afternoon. She said she would share the giant pinky lavender one with me next year. Yay!

I don't do dahlias here in NY, because they have to be dug up each fall, dried and packed in peat or sphagnum moss, and replanted each spring... and - nah. Wish I could afford a gardener!!!

When our grandson sent me this photo of Byron and Jasper, who helped my daughter do her crossword puzzle today, I had to share.
So even though it's not the right day, I bring cats to our Mastodon friends.

Byron kept me company while I roamed my daughter's garden.
My son in law decided to dangle a string in front of the cats to play. They were hysterically funny.
I really needed a laugh.
I wanted to see the newest cat to join their menagerie, but he was too shy. It seems his former family moved to another city without him, so he joined my daughter's happy family.
He's not a kitten but more of a middle-aged cat. The other three cats are happy with one more.
When he's ready to meet the rest of the family, I'll meet him with open arms.
