setting aside the free speech nonsense i don't understand why someone would think that "defederation means fewer people will see your posts" is something we should be concerned about. why would i want more people to be able to access this log of strange toilet thoughts and my pathological obsession with cartoon gay porn?? im pretty happy gatekeeping that to the few people who are actually interested thanks.

@sayyid_qishta i get anxious whenever i see a ton of new notifications on here,,,,, i have no desire to go viral, i am here to socialize with my fellow queerdos, dweebs, sluts, and geeks, not all the terrible negative things that happen whenever a post leaves containment
