Kudos to #Mozilla for defying #Russia's ban on #Firefox extensions that help Russian users bypass Russian #censorship. More reasons to love #Libraries and #Librarians. I posted this to Twitter a few years ago. Re-upping it light of recent #BookBans, #Censorship, and threats to #Libraries.

One of many reasons public libraries are awesome. Thank you Ben Franklin and everyone since! Update. I'd love to give credit to the #library + #librarians who created this chart. But I don't know who they are. Can you help?

@petersuber @OpenAlex Ooh, I'm definitely switching to this. Always hated that Google Scholar felt like a monopoly :/ @petersuber @OpenAlex I want this to succeed, but from my brief poking around it's nowhere near up to Google Scholar's standard. I search for "xenoposeidon" to find myself, clicked through to my author page at https://openalex.org/authors/a5069719980 and found I wrote 326 works (closer to 30), and have 10 affiliations (I have three). Obviously has me conflated with other Mike Taylors. @petersuber @OpenAlex can you create a profile like Google Scholad? I searched myself and it did a good job, but some papers werent mine #ORCID is shifting from #RINGGOLD to #ROR as the ID for a scholar's institutional affiliation. PS: I support this move. It will help establish ROR as the #standard for institutional affiliation. RINGGOLD IDs are #proprietary and ROR IDs are in the #PublicDomain under #CC0. |
@petersuber @internetarchive who wants to crowdsource a campaign to bring this to the commons?
@petersuber @internetarchive For real fans --
however this goes, I will say that
"The collected essays, journalism and letters of George Orwell"
was one of the truly great reading experiences
Seems to be on Internet Archive, certainly in good libraries
