It finally works! 🤞🏼 Here is a table of more than 1000 journalists on #Mastodon, that updates itself – showing the ones most active, most followed etc. I took the wonderful table by @tchambers as foundation, but deleted some media organizations, so that it only contains accounts from people. Please (!!) refrain from telling me how wrong it is to use #Google: I'm doing this with the tools I'm able to use and I'm doing this in my free time (of which there is not so much with two wonderful little boys). If someone can do a better job, please be my guest! Build it, I will share it. After showing my first attempts last year, I got so much flag for using Google but only one offer to help – thx for that btw.   @mastodonmigration @tchambers It always bugged me to find list of accounts and then having to look, who is still active.  "Last status" is the last date of the last posting, right? Any chance to extract and use the last activity information you see at (web client only) your profile under "follower and I'm following"? Viele der @riffreporter sind z.B. auch im Fediverse unterwegs und einige Spektrum.de-Menschen ebenfalls, um nur ein paar Beispiele zu nennen. Da steht ja, was die Datenquelle ist. Dort wiederum gibt es eine Erklärung, wie man drauf kommt. Mir ging es um die Visualisierung einer bestehenden Tabelle. Ich hab schon vor, das zu erweitern, aber erstmal musste ich es überhaupt zum Laufen bringen. @mho Ah, ich habe das "took as a foundation" als "nahm als Ausgangspunkt" gelesen und gedacht, es impliziert, dass die Liste auch ergänzt (und nicht nur wie du beschreibst gekürzt) wurde. Missverständnis also - aber wenn du die Liste dann noch händisch ergänzen oder eine automatisierte Lösung zur Ergänzung bauen willst, hast du eh noch ordentlich was vor... @mho Bei automatisierten Lösungen bin ich leider überfragt - ich kann nur die paar Dutzend anbieten, denen ich sonst noch folge. 😬 @mimrma |

I hope, that some will find this helpful. But to be honest, I am a bit embarrassed, at how I got this to work: I'm using the account @JournalistsOnMastodon: It follows (or better tries to follow) this accounts:

A modified version of this script (https://blog.tomaszdunia.pl/mastodon-api-followers-following-eng/) by @to3k then regularly creates a table, containing the details of all the accounts. #GoogleSheets grabs this and creates two versions of the table.
