Gregory's Server@samhenrigold @michaelsteeber Blender is really hard to get into but there's a point where it switched from "this is the worst interface ever" to "this is one of the best interfaces ever" for me. It's far from easy or approachable but when you get it you GET it. I think it's kind of incredible how they managed to be this consistent with how things work and behave in an app of this complexity.

 @samhenrigold @marcel I had the app for years and I'd open every few months, feel defeated, and close it. 2.8 changed the game. It became just approachable enough that I could make some progress. But even after modeling 3 stores in it, I feel like I've touched 5% of the features. It's massive.  @samhenrigold @michaelsteeber An intense couple of days. 3D is still hard and I don't understand most of what you can and should do but at least the interface doesn't feel like a complicated mess anymore. One thing that took me a while: Using keyboard shortcuts is a must. Learning those and understand the surprisingly thought through logic behind them is half the battle. |
@marcel @michaelsteeber how long did that transition take you? i'm willing to keep going at it but i need to see some light at the end of the tunnel
