Hey Sparkasse, what is the point of a contactless payment if you're gonna ask me to enter a PIN, huh?

@Gargron Do you prefer everyone being able to pay with your money without any security mechanisms after you've lost your card?It totally makes sense that you still need your PIN for bigger payments and I think even the possibility of paying small amounts without a PIN is very dangerous as it can be easily exploited by doing many small payments.

@Gargron there os a limit how many times you can it use contactless under the 25€ limit. But its only reset after pitting it into the cardreader.

@Gargron if the payment is above €25 you need to enter the PIN

@Gargron Just tell it to the people around you, some kind soul will be willing to type it in, I guess… unless the terminal is already voice-activated.

@Gargron They should have those holographic buttons they have in Japan.

This usually happens if your amount exceeds some threshold, 1000 roubles in Russia. But if you use Google/Apple pay, it won't ask you the PIN either way, you just have to unlock your phone before tapping.

@Gargron Also the upper limit for contactless payment without PIN is 25€ I think, which is pointless if you're supposed to go shopping only once a week. (Which also conflicts with trying to eat healthy, which would require fresh produce.)

I guess it's safe to say that payment safety wasn't conceived with Covid-19 in mind.
