@ben That’s what I thought, too, and then the first boyfriend showed up (who had been in the armed forces) and actually meant it! Wasn’t prepared for that, I tell you! At least the scene caused great big amusement for my girl, probably about both of us. |
@J12t I use it as a jovial term of endearment, but this reminds me that I used to work with someone who'd been in the Royal Navy who *haaaated* it. I should probably put it in mothballs.
