@neauoire this place looks familiar, and yet, i've never been there

@neauoire i love the way the warm creamy white of pino's hull and shelter contrasts with the neutral white of the snow and gray sky.

@neauoire Very nice! Just realised that I was there nearly exactly 25 years ago. Time flies...

@neauoire I wondered where you moor in the winter.

tbsp

@neauoire What a fantastic location to spend the winter!

Devine Lu Linvega

@tbsp we're sooo lucky to be here, the community is great too, we often have board game nights on our friend's boat here

Derek Carroll

@neauoire wow, front-row seats at the Empress! Victoria is lovely.

wrack

@neauoire No. No, no. (Sorry, I was raised in the sub-tropics. This is, for me, a vision of purgatory.)

Devine Lu Linvega

@ccohanlon It's soo nice, you put a log in the stove, hide in the blankets with a book. You eat a ton of soup

wrack

@neauoire Tell me about the part where I can walk anywhere barefoot... LOL I do like soup though.

nomand

@neauoire that spool of line on the port quarter, is that for stern anchoring? and do you just leave it on the spool when in use?

Devine Lu Linvega

@nomand yep, it's pretty much the only way to anchor around here, we leave it on all the time when we're in transit. It's floating like

nomand

@neauoire what's the spool made of? Is it made for holding the boat in all conditions or only calm weather?

Devine Lu Linvega

@nomand The spool is made of hard plastic, it's usually the leftover spool that comes with when ordering chain.

We used it in pretty rough conditions, but we cleat the line, it doesn't run directly from the spool.

nomand

@neauoire I'm a big fan of ready to deploy systems, but hard to manage space on a double ender

Devine Lu Linvega

@nomand mhmm, I haven't noticed how canoe stern boats stern tie, I'll pay attention next time we're out and take some pictures of their spool setup if I can :)
