I don't remember any hysteria. There was trepidation, even I had some of that and I was fairly confident my main project was ok. That didn't prevent me logging in just before midnight and watching the time recording tick over uneventfully.
There was a certain tone of regret that there wasn't a terminal disaster for the news to cover.
