Help me understand - is there a reason that using the word "content" is wrong when talking about "stories, articles, greetings, …" ?

I think I'm missing some nuance here.

I do like having control over the content I see (to an extent, not 100%) by using mute, block, filters, etc. No unsolicited posts whether that means advertisements, posts that someone else liked, suggestions for people to follow, etc.

I'm not saying there are no problems here, but I think it's a good platform.

@ahimsa_pdx @ErikUden In the corporate world, "content" is widely used to treat works and communications as a commodity whose purpose is to fill a box and make money.

Thanks for the link! I had heard of this corporate use of the word content but I appreciate the extra info.

The usage in that first post is a bit confusing to me but I have cognitive issues.

It would have made more sense to me if the post had said that content on the Fediverse is difficult to monetize and then listed the reasons why.
