The visual styles we see commonly in product design are a direct reflection of the tools we have. In the days of using Photoshop as a web design tool, rich layer styles were easy. Of course we used textured overlays, embossing, etc. And of course we don't stray far from the handful of blurs and shadows Figma gives us today.

Imagine the kind of wacky, fun stuff we would get if Figma added a layer effect for bevel and emboss. Or distortion background effects. Instead of just background blur, why not have background bulge? Or background twist?
