@Yoji @thomasfuchs Attempts at a Metaverse have been happening since the dawn of the internet, and over-promising has been a thing since forever. While VR just happens to be the latest platform afflicted by these curses, you certainly don't judge every technology by the worst way it was used.

At its core VR is a emergent art form capable of new experiences. While seeing that right now means ignoring a lot of corporate greed, you'd be blind to just sum it up as "monitors but slower and worse."
