@triple It's a potential solution. Ideally we can use the same render pipeline for both text and icons. Since icons can have arbitrary colors, gradients, stroke etc. we'd need to support color. Maybe via COLR https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/opentype/spec/colr
@rsms That’s also what I was thinking about. I just have no idea of how COLR and hinting cohabit.
