@forteller I love the idea of moving away from car-centric cities in the US... But these sorts of rebuttals for disability always make me feel invisible.
I have energy-limiting illnesses, so an adaptive bike won't help me, personally. I use a power chair, but accessible bike paths wouldn't help me because the longer a journey is, the more tiring it is. I need someone to drive me so the journey is fast and I don't have to make decisions.
I'm all for cycling infrastructure, and I know it will help lots of disabled folks by giving them more options, but it still sucks feeling like my existence is an inconvenience to these arguments.
