Low Quality Facts

Welcome to Mastodon! It's a laid back place. But here's a few simple rules you must follow:

1. Never assume that a user is human. This can be very offensive to non-humans.

2. Do not make jokes about peanut allergies, anything that could be deemed a hobby, or anyone who passed away more recently than the year 1300.

3. Always use the hashtag #notascam. Otherwise, we will assume you are swindling us.

4. Tell three of your friends to join. Yes, it's a pyramid scheme.

Shhh, don't tell anyone but, I will do all of those things because I believe your rules are a treasure map that will lead me to the answer to the ultimate question.

Ian Douglas Scott

@lowqualityfacts But what *can* I post about? Oh well, guess I'll just have to make fun of Eric II of Norway (1268-1299).

But that may require some research. And learning Norwegian. That must be required here.

Ian Douglas Scott

@lowqualityfacts Let's see, what would be most insulting to a medieval king...

"What do you call a king who can't produce a male heir? Norwegian!"

"Despite having no heir for his own kingdom, he tried to inherit the throne of Scotland from his daughter. But the Scots didn't think he made a very good queen."

That's all I've got based on the English Wikipedia article about him.

@ids1024 @lowqualityfacts
I can't believe you beat me to Eiríkr Magnússon.

Ian Douglas Scott

@Burn_this_ @lowqualityfacts It's so handy how you can just look up the Wikipedia article on 1299 and find what notable events, births, and deaths occurred.

I might be willing to be your friend, but I need to know your views on Eiríkr Magnússon first.

@lowqualityfacts 5. Content warnings should be used on any text or image that could be offensive, unwanted, controversial, alive, irritating, uninteresting, political, opinionated, not useful, fear-inducing, or nonsensical... or follow standard practice on your instance.

@lowqualityfacts all the qualities of a cult with none of the benefits.

@lowqualityfacts always use content warnings for pictures of pets, especially if they are looking at the camera. Not everyone has pets or eyes.

@kierkegaank @lowqualityfacts It warms my lack of a heart that people with eyes will give some consideration for my pathetic excuse for sight organs--basically cup-shaped mushrooms with light-sensitive cells inside.

That tapetum lucidum makes me so freakin' envious. And lens, obviously. I have to admit that eyes are maybe the *one* thing animals can do better than fungi, so I appreciate not having that waved around in my lack of a face all the time.
