it's almost like publishers don't want us to buy games

@lexd0g@wetdry.world @ipg@wetdry.world I have a ratio of 156 (or 14.84 TB uploaded) on Hogwarts legacy. I'm not even interested in playing that game, I just did it to spite jowling kowling rowling @lexd0g when are game stores gonna put limitations on whether or not you can have a bullshit extra launcher layer before playing games you buy. i feel like with a de-facto monopoly and "pls i give u 2 billion can u put jame on here" they can at least use that power to strongarm shittier devs @lexd0g im fine with paying for games as well (i play mostly on my switch because i go around places a lot and plus i bought it when game piracy was still a big no no for me (for the record i understand and respect it now)) @lexd0g yeah exactly, and when something is too pricey for me i usually wait for a sale (like i did with botw, got the game and dlc for less than the normal base game price) there are two instances where this one spent the full 60 bucks on a nintendo game, it was for mario 3d world and mario wonder the former because i needed something to play and f2p games werent going to cut it It's literally pain in the ass. Downloading another launcher to play a game that are unoptimized, buggy, or featureless. @lexd0g if buying is not owning then piracy is not stealing. and if they don't want us to buy games it means that you don't mind that we can get it for free then @lexd0g@wetdry.world but viruses!! (meanwhile 'good' pirate sources being more trustable than the legit companies that install kernel level mal- anti-tamper software) @lexd0g@wetdry.world That's right, all modern games are sucks except casual/2D. i've stopped playing online games since month ago because size is too bigger and unoptimized for all devices.. @lexd0g Eeyupp... Or as #LouisRossmann said: '#Piracy is completely justified, because paying customers get the worse experience!' @lexd0g do what I do: @lexd0g @lexd0g This is remarkably similar to my experience of buying RDR2. Except I gave up and hit the refund button when I saw those damn captchas. I just can't do them. Why publishers insist on treating their paying customers worse than people they perceive as "stealing", I'll never understand. @lexd0g There are still DRM-free games on GOG. But major publishers abuse their position with DRM. @lexd0g the problem with the piracy experience is the potential for malware to be included in the binary. But I guess in many ways the official method requiring Internet access to transmit your activity as you play is a kind of malware itself. 🤷 @lexd0g you missed the part where you need to sign up for a new account on the store if you dont already have one, install their launcher, log in, then you probably have to make another fucking account on the games individual launcher also
