I'm happy to annouce RDE 0.5.0 release. We are the halfway towards 1.0.0 (:

The best distribution I've ever used so far, what else can I say?)

@abcdw are there screenshots of this, I’m trying to imagine the look of it? Is it just a terminal? Or are there gui elements to it? I’m curious.

@parzzix Sure, there is an outdated screenshot in the README file: git.sr.ht/~abcdw/rde, but also a fresh screenshot special for you:

@abcdw nice! Thanks. So is it stand alone? Or is it similar to Nix and it can standalone or I could throw it on another distro?

@parzzix In the announce:
> RDE can be used as a primary standalone operating system, as well as on top of existing GNU/Linux or just to manage dev environment of your project.

:)

At the moment it's heavily based on Guix, so it similiar to Guix and thus in many cases to Nix.

@abcdw very cool… I will have to give it a spin soon.
