you know what, my first job in video games was as a UI artist on PS2 games. Entire days of my life were dedicated to making sure HUD numbers like this were sitting on the same scanline otherwise they'd alias differently if we dropped an interlaced frame, on top of just being sloppy.

Just saying this bugs me too and even though it's Christmas break I'm just going to fix it RIGHT NOW.
