I avoided Times Square back then. It's been seriously gentrified since. The movie Taxi Driver (1976) came to mind.

@Eka_FOOF_A @w7voa yeah, I'm from L.A. but everything I've been told makes me feel like Hollywood Blvd since the 80's/early 90's has closely mirrored Times Square in it's migration from sleazy to disney.
