Listen, I know it comes from a good place. But when someone from the States talks about their experience with gun violence or a woman shares their story about access to abortion and someone from another country replies about how unfathomable it is and how regressive it seems, it’s not really helpful?

I know it’s not malicious, but “I can’t imagine that happening here” is probably not matching their vibe.
