@Gargron I've been trying to say exactly this to people for years. It's basically just autocorrect with a way bigger database and better(ish) context awareness. AI requires sentience, which isn't possible with current hardware, and probably never will be.
The misunderstanding is leading to some companies trying to adopt language models to replace workers, but it doesn't play out well. Eventually it'll settle down to be a toolset but not a replacement for humans. There's little to fear there.
