@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social The first (Waves) one is spot on, balanced on colours, closer to previous plasma wallpapers, I would be very happy if that's the default! Flow is also good, the rest, while interesting, are not qualified as good wallpaper. I know I'm probably a rare breed these days, who still uses desktop for actually storing things there and that affects my wallpaper choice a lot.

@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social with the one that has the clock, does KDE have support for dynamic wallpapers (like macOS does)? I seem to remember this being a thing for some wallpapers in KDE Plasma 5 but its been a while.

If it does, it would be really cool to have the clock reflect the current system time! It already looks great on its own, but that little detail would make it perfect.

The bottom right is great. Modern, warm, enough contrast, ... . Imho going with plain blue or green backgrounds are becoming a cliche in KDE and tbh a little bit old-fashioned.

I have a simple solution. Just use multiple desktops. You can use all of them as default. 😃
Then you don't have to decide. 🤓

@kde top left, i don't know the layout of plasma 6 but the amorphous flowing form should play nicely with a launcher in the bottom left corner. It also communicates something unfolding, which is appropriate for a major release. #opinions

Bottom right looks awesome, but mid right has potential too. The only thing holding it back imo is the overall grayness of the foreground being a bit too much.

The one bottom right is the best in my opinion.

Hmm~ I would say that the bottom right one caught my eye, but I would go with the top left one as the default wallpaper. It looks sophisticated and clean. It depends on the first impression you want to give.

Top left looks best as a default wallpaper in my opinion. Nice mix of colours, not too bright or too dark, and generally seems appealing while not being too distracting.

If there wasn’t a weird monster, backpack, or out of place alarm clock in the middle right one, that would’ve been my favorite. The alarm clock isn’t even within reach of a bed to snooze it or turn it off. The backpack makes it too cluttered. The view through the window and the colors are my favorite, however.

As-is, the bottom two are the ones I like most. I love the color of the bottom left and I like the nature of the bottom right though I am not a fan of so much orange.
