 The payment system is one of the larger challenges. Networking/promotion, word of mouth etc, is a cornerstone. Streaming of some fashion plays the part of radio stations. *odd thought could fediverse support a listening “channel”, a radio station, as part of its functionality? that is add in audio stream as part of its API, music to go with bloom scrolling. The other component would be to direct to artists’ “node” of works where people can toss a coin to their bard 3 comments

I would love to see these alternatives prosper and grow. @KydiaMusic @strypey @krusynth @radiofreefedi Importantly, how much visibility have these sites gained even within the fediverse? I am not hooked into much of the music (artist) scene; this looks like a ray of light. I know there’s a coop effort alternative to Etsy and the like; again in peasant view, it seems like a fediverse variant like it’s time for the equivalent. The add challenge is shipping of material goods. |

They have also set up an alternative to bandcamp, called Faircamp: https://faircamp.radiofreefedi.net/
