Is Apple Music better? We pay for that, so I thought it would be. And yes, I generally stream stuff I already own. Streaming is my way to make a randomized playlist.
@CassandraVert@krusynth Streaming can be absolutely wonderful for discovery, no question! A rare case where I don't mind a provider knowing what I do, since they actually can offer me improved recommendations. I really liked Apple's "genius playlist" feature. "Give me more like this, please."
Music and YouTube are both not terrible. Half a cent per stream or so, and again, the payout rates vary by popularity. To a degree I can pick if my track is sold for 99¢, or $1.49, but not on streaming.
