Gregory's Serveri keep seeing social ads from microsoft with the narration “here’s a hidden gem in NYC: the Microsoft store on fifth avenue is a great place for gamers” and i can’t describe the deep sadness i feel when a company calls their own retail store a hidden gem

 @samhenrigold imagining the kind of pathetic creature whose heart is warmed by that copy. a hidden gem! for gamers?! 🥹  You know maybe making the stores an open LAN party will draw better traffic than just saying ‘Hey mister, need to buy a Surface?’ ‘A what?’  @samhenrigold @joesteel these social media commercials that are set up like influencer videos are INSUFFERABLE. The worst are when one person pretends to be two people having a very forced conversation  @samhenrigold @joesteel The always empty Microsoft Stores across the US were an embarrassment for many years. Their consumer strategy built around Windows Phone was doomed, closing the stores was the only rational thing to do. Leaving the NYC store open was silly, but it’s certainly hidden 🙁 |
