@bobpony Why the heck people use :google: Chrome to begin with? 🤔 Been using :firefox: on different platforms for ages 😊 @bobpony@mastodon.social what do you mean switch to Firefox? Any self respecting individual already uses it or a fork. @tdelmas @bobpony @nitot this one is exciting too, but I reckon I regularly (once every 1-2 months) have to switch off the blocker to go through a specific link. I don't know how to make this work easily with a physical device. @bobpony Disabling third-party products to protect their business model is a path to destruction. I think people have a right to use Ad-blockers on e.g. mobiles and tablets to preserve battery life. I've seen the running times for non-skipped YouTube Ads and they're now up to 2.5 minutes. @bobpony although is a thing that would happens few years later (2019 -> 2024).
https://9to5google.com/2019/01/22/google-chrome-break-ad-blockers/ Been there, done that. Happy. Chrome? - Have been using it only in very rare cases about 1-2x a year for years. :( |
@bobpony 2024: Goggle confirms they will disable Firefox in 2025.
They can do $#%^ about mothra, lynx or w3m though =).
