@Gargron Yeah, I was just thinking... that threat may not have the effect he's expecting.

@Gargron most (sensible) people would think it's a win, I do so too.

But big platforms doing this is sadly this pressure tactic of "haha, look we're going to make a huge part of the dependent populace angry if you don't let us roam free"

which most likely will work out

@Gargron Yeah. Hopefully they will include WA as well... :blobcatfingerguns:

@Gargron If I were the EU I would instantly pull the plug myself after hearing that. End of the problem.

@gargron wouldn't that be sooo nice? To get rid of this cancer?

@Gargron You all know: Even if they actually make such statements, it's solely for one reason: In order to call all the zombies to make them wake up and fight for their Facebook.

... and in my experience, this will perfectly work (as in the last 15 yrs). Where are the persons fighting against all that crap? I cannot see them. Are they dead or just sleeping since 15 yrs?

@Gargron Right now I wouldn't be sad or miss too much...

@Gargron I remember them saying they'll do that before. They didn't, and they won't.

@Gargron I think this is blackmail. They know a part of European economy will collapse if they shut down Facebook and Instagram, so they use this to force legislators to let them do whatever they want. I think this is "too big to fall" territory.
