Deutsche Bahn cancelled the train we were supposed to take. Even when you book with the least number of changes they manage to screw you over.

@Gargron
That's a "feature".. Just don't ever come to France where SNCF is even worse than DB...

JJDavis, but there are trains in the US, I know because I used them

@Gargron how does it compare to you experiences with rail in the UK?

I'm asking genuinely, I've heard conflicting things.

@Gargron had this happen on the NightJet from Rome to München during the rail strike. Was reeeal touch and go especially when you're actively on that train and unsure if you're getting dropped off in Austria to fend for yourself or if you'll get lucky to go all the way to München.

@Gargron From this summers experience with them .... Deutche Bahn => Delayed Bahn ...

@Gargron Saw you in the UK in the couple of days, surely if you’ve experienced the British rail system you will have a new found gratitude for Deutsche Bahn

@Gargron at least you‘ll get back 50% of money

@Gargron

@Gargron There was a talk one year at CCC by someone who scraped DB data for a year or so. One of the takeaways was that they cancel trains so that it does not add to the statistics of trains being late. 😉
